This movie has no substance. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but the whole movie was boring and superficial. The character of Condondoleezza was ridiculous as her facial expressions and mannerisms were not accurate and were annoying. The only thing half redeeming is that Richard Dreyfuss and Josh Brolin did a great job. When I'm in a movie and look at my watch, that's the sign that I'm wasting my time. Don't waste your time and money!

Pros: Acting by Richard Dreyfuss and Josh Brolin

Cons: Everything else

Oliver Stone has done it again. Brolin does a fine George W and we get a mostly accurate account of the man who's been in charge of our country for the last 8 years. It's fun, scary, sad and an informal eye-opener. Go see it, you won't be sorry.

Don't waste your money. A flaccid, pointless waste of film and time and the talents of the actors. Stone had a fertile subject: the most inept and arguably disastrous President we've ever suffered and the director completely fails to deliver. Seemed like he couldn't decide whether to make a serious historical recreation of the rise and fall of the Shrub or to treat his subject with sardonic black humor. Instead of either choice Stone instead made a wishy washy, tedious, ineptly edited, poorly directed and boring mess. It plays like a cobbled together and unfunny attempt at SNL skits done by a bunch of stoned high school kids. I have a high tolerance for stupid, obscure, self-indulgent and overly pompous films (I even sat through "Inland Empire", though I think it may have left me with marginal brain damage.) But I really, really wanted to walk out of this piece of junk. I only endured it because I wanted to go for a beer afterwards with the guys I was seeing it with. Josh Brolin made a valiant effort to capture his character but Stone's direction clearly failed the enterprise. The other roles were hugely uneven -- Colin Powell played straight, Rove and Cheney played for evil comedy and the portrayal of Condi Rice as a simpering lackey was idiotic. Please believe me and DO NOT bother with this movie. Do yourself and the world a favor and take the price of a ticket and send it to Amnesty International. You'll be glad you did.
