This review is in response to the review concerning the officers at Metro Protective Agency and the way they handled themselves on the Segway. First off I spent the ten days at the fair park and spent a great deal of time with the officers at Metro. And I can say with great pride that they were very professional in not only the way they handled any issue that came up but also with the way that they handled themselves with the crowd while on their Segways. The incident with which the previous person wrote about is a gross misrepresentation of events. First the officer that did that was responding to a theft that had just occured and she had officers in foot pursuit of the suspect. Furthermore if the previous person had paid attention he/she would have seen that as soon as the crowd became to conjested and using a segway could casue a safety concern she stepped off her Segway, handed it to another Officer and continued her pursuit on foot. And just in case u are curious the suspect was caught by a Metro Officer. Furthermore the previous person knows nothing about Segway, and in my opinion is a hater on Security and Segway due to the fact that if they did their research they would know that Segway is built for the sole purpose of going through crowds and also any officer from Metro that got on one of the units had to get trained on properly handling one. In my opinion Metro Protective Agency did a outstanding job at the fair and having the Segways there made me feel reassured that in whatever issue might have occured they were right there to assist.

Metro Dispatchers Rock! Dana, Whitney, Trisha, Collin and that hopeful Brenna you are the best! Your always there when we need you and talk about staying on to of it in the dead of night. Those 1036 checks are appreciated and the support and followup calls to make sure Metro guards are a-okay make you one of the best group of people on the backend. Keep up the great work, it can get crazy as we know without you I dont know what we would do. METRO DISPATCHERS ROCK and don't forget it! I will miss you and several others at Metro! Employees and management at Metro are serious professionals in the security business and have a very close team that uses state of the art technology and the corporate branding of Metro from custom guard and patrol uniforms to fully customized patrol vehicles and a state of the art dispatcher and control room sets Metro apart from the rest--seriously--spare no expense. Metro management is sharp, experienced and swift at taking care of business. Metro success is the great employees like the dispatchers mentioned above whom are the ones with great leadership have contributed to Metro's continued success over the years. Metro is a great company to work for and has long term rention rate with their clients and a great reputation within the industry. Thanks Metro! I will miss alot of you for many I never had the chance to get to know. Hope I can in the future. Best Luck and take care Metro!

Pros: The company has a very dedicated back end support operation to help guards in the field - dispatchers and patrol - immediate response and ready for anything

Cons: None--especially compared to many others that I worked for... Metro knows a good guard & client when they have them.

just to let you all know, OPSman isn't a former employee. he currently works there. he is "mike" that tbone8400 was talking about. so for you (opsman) to sit there and give your company a review is not only sad, but very underhanded for future customers. you cannot judge your own company by portraying to not to work for that company. how low! further more ex-employees have the right to voice their opinions of this crappy company and air the dirt that is really metro. to future customers and or employees beware. this man and company are very spitefull, liars, and overall shady!!!!! so my recommendation is.....GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!! and no i have never worked for metro, i am a real protector of homeland security!

This company has been around for a number of years and has a history and reputation of dishonest practices and poor work. The Manager/Owner "Mike" frequently uses unreputable and dishonest business practices, Commonly visits companies in the area and makes false statements about their current security provider. best i can say is buyer beware with this company. also i guess it would also be prospective employee beware as well. my advise when shopping for a security provider is to ask a cop what they think about a certain company they will usually tell you who to avoid. besides that its just funny to see the look on their face when you ask about metro protective. i do realize from the other reviews that somebody will respond and say that i am a disgruntled ex-employee or something, i guess its the best defense you can come back with to make a review look bad, but quite the contrary i have not worked for them.

Pros: they have a cool hummer

Cons: forementioned hummer got repossessed.

METRO is one of the most advanced and tech savy security firms I have worked for and plan on making this a long term career move especially because of the management. The management and its owners are up front and respectful and hold you to word as an emloyee in turn your see the rewards in many different forms. Just like their clients most likely do to with Metro. The image Metro portrays and the advanced technologies involved in their operation and especially the upper management is incredibily dedicated. For all those whom are disgruntled over something I suggest you reexamine yourself. I believe Metro gets down to the chase and does not bs with people whom are going to prevent the company from moving forward. I am a comany person and loyal to my employer whomever it is. Security requires alot of different things and assignments, dont complain or be picky do your TIME like others and EARN your respect. I just know that from all the many wanna be companies--yes some are good, but they all say they are the BEST. Metro is, you see it. ACTIONS MEAN EVERYTHING. Also, dont bash your employer like you did, it will catch up wit h you later. LOYALTY in the beginning throughout and the end is key esecially if you want to pursue the business with another company. I am excited and NEW but I am here to Learn METROS way for I know alot of people who will not even risk going with a large national company because they cannot manage the little things that MATTER. METRO can and I am apart of their team. So for the negative comments made, every company gets them---just dont cross the line talking about reputable business owners in companies like this for that is ridiculous and is clear to all why you are no longer employed. RESPECT, LOYALTY and DO YOUR JOB"

Lets start off with your keen powers of observation being a "cop" and all. If you look at the majority of the reviews with 5 stars, they were all written by me, the same person, and I am not Mike Gunn. Second, yes lets look at the "key strokes", oh wait, we can't "cop" because we can't see the person typing. Third, lets look at the slang. Wow, again it is all the same! Why you might ask yourself are all of the grammatical errors and slang and "key strokes" the same. Hey detective guy, check this out, BECAUSE THE SAME PERSON WROTE THE COMMENTS!!! Try looking at the names, they are from the same people, none of which are Mike Gunn and the majority of are current or past employees. Here is another absolutely amazing thought that will likely just disturb your feeble little mind. Now work with me here..... Maybe, just maybe the majority of Metro Protective Agency employees are absolutely satisfied with their jobs and the company for which they work. Wow, I know, its crazy, but think outside of your tiny ignorance box for a moment. Just because you had some issues, which you probably did not bring to anybody's attention, does not mean that the company is ripping people off. I know Mike Gunn on a personal and have seen him do things for employees that I know for a fact, no other company would even entertain the thought of doing. Get off your hi-horse and think for a moment that just because you were not satisfied, that company and its owner must be doing something shady. Here is another quandry, if you were "never" issued a uniform shirt, how possibly did you work? If you truly are a Police Officer, lets hope you never become a detective, thats a lot of Cold Case Files to be scheduled on TV.

Pros: Good company, small and intimate. Follow the rules very closely.

I disagree strongly with the last two reviews. Going by thier user names they appear to be two employees who were fired for less than honorable circumstances. I have worked for several security companies in the valley and appreciate the fact that metro continues to challenge me, provide the opportunity for me to improve my skills and rewards me for accepting more responsibility. Those here that strive to do thier best and suceed are happy. I also know from experience that the Management and Supervisors take pride in what they do and strive to instill that in all employee's. I have never worked for a more disciplined company.

Pros: Advancement based on what you do, not who you know.

I'm a brand new employee for the company, the person who left the last comment nailed it right on the nose. 90% of the staff are stinky drunk party animals, and the management could care less about their professionalism and performed tasks on duty. The company is nothing but a scheme earning large amounts of money from clients by doing NOTHING.

This security company is a joke, Bad supervision, Bad managment, this company is only around to get mike gunn all his toys, he doesnt care about his client or employees, he lets his supervisors sexually harass female employees, over bills clients for hours when no guard is on site, pulls guards off accounts to place them else where and still bills the clients, doesn't make all his mobile patrol accounts unless they have the deggy tour system onsite, he cuts employees hours.. Very bad company to do business with STAY away or you will be burned.. his turnover rate is the highest in utah for employement

Cons: you'll get burned if you hire them or work for them
