User Reviews for Flow Yoga SLC

Flow Yoga does have some good teachers and an impressive array of yoga styles. Unfortunately, my experience has not been wholly positive. I bought a 10 class pass, used it one time and then after 2 month traveling break I was informed that the remaining 9 classes had "expired". In other words, they've cheated me out of my money. Legally speaking they're OK because it turns out there is some fine print on the website when you buy the pass. Nonetheless, this experience has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I don't really understand where they're coming from: they certainly are not client-friendly; no one responded to my email. I won't take FY classes again - have switched to Center Yoga instead. Their policy is much more relaxed and friendly and their classes are great. In other words, caveat emptor.

This is my first review but it has to be known that Flow Yoga is a wonderful studio. Let me begin my story by stating that I was getting tired of the yoga studios in Park City and wanted to see what the valley had to offer. When I first stepped into Flow Yoga SLC, I felt as if I'd been transported to an island oasis somewhere. It was winter ourside but inside it felt so warm and bright. Already I was feeling better. But, wait, there's more. I attended my first class and fell in love. This is what I had been missing. This is what I had been waiting for. The teachers are knowledgeable role models who are so inviting and ready to help in the progression of your practice. It really was a full mind, body, and spirit experience. After just that one class, I knew that this is where I wanted to do my teacher training. I had been to many classes where the teachers lacked passion, knowledge of the postures and the human body and it always felt generic , but after attending various other classes at Flow Yoga I found that I really admired each teacher and so I knew that I had found the right place for my Teacher Training. Not only does Flow Yoga offer Teacher Training programs but they also offer, Kids Yoga, Workshops/Intensives with master teachers from around the world, Ayurveda Specialists, Massage, Kirtans, Dance Church and so much more, It really is a community building studio. Flow Yoga is also a green building! There is geothermal floor heating for happy bare feet all year round, the showers and toilets are low flow, the studios have cork flooring and eco friendly paint, and all the light bulbs are compact flourescent for low energy use. What else can I say, Flow Yoga has two great studios(one in Sugarhouse and one in East Milcreek) offereing 9 different styles of yoga and over 20 teachers that there is sure to be a class for you. I highly recommend this studio.
Pros: Intro Special of One Month Unlimited for $39 (cheapest in SLC), variety of classes at all times of the day, passionate teachers, relaxing atmosphere

I am constantly referring to city search to find things in Salt Lake, so it's finally time to review a few of my favs. After moving here in January, I was ready to get back into a regular yoga practice. Having practiced Power Yoga, Ashtanga, & Hatha for ~5yrs I was looking for a studio that would help me take my practice to the next level, physically, mentally, and energetically. Flow Yoga was the first studio I tried (Sarah Tomson's Saturday morning class...still my favorite!). They offer $39 unlimited yoga new student offer...and after that I have been hooked. I have specifically attended Ashtanga and Prana Flow classes. The Ashtanga is traditional primary series with a modern twist; physically demanding, yet lighthearted and playful. I had never experienced Prana Flow prior to this studio, but what a fun way to totally let go and let the yoga and breath guide you. Instructors Jami & Sarah are exceptional; and they play the best music, adding to the Saturday and Sunday morning good vibes. The instructors and knowledgeable and approachable, and the staff is friendly and inviting, oh yeah and the studio pup, buttercup is a doll.
Pros: Ambience, Music, New Student offer, weekend classes, nice bathrooms!, free tea!
Cons: No advanced morning classes; Ashtanga only 3 days/wk

I really love this studio. I have taken classes at others but Jennifer Ellen and her staff are so supportive and knowledgeable. Try Yoga 101 to get started with yoga the smart way.

I've tried every studio in SLC, and Sonic tops them all. Jennifer Ellen is very professional and personable. This is the only studio that doesn't make me feel self conscious about my ability level and the teachers actually spend quality one-on-one time with each student.
Pros: Inexpensive, inviting atmosphere, good parking

Sonic Yoga is my favorite place I've found in Salt Lake. I've tried all kinds of yoga and have enjoyed most of the them, but I love it here because it's friendly and laid back. I didn't feel like I had to be a pro. I also love the music. It makes it more enjoyable for me. I recommend it to everyone. And you can't beat the price!
Pros: Instructors, Parking, Price
