I haven't been able to find a regular hair stylist since moving to Utah. After reading the previous reviews on this site and seeing that the salon is extremely close to my home in Daybreak, I decided to have my hair cut here . I loved the convenience of the online appointment system and chose specifically to make an appointment with one of the owners. I had my appointment today, and I won't be going back. It makes me sad to say that because I was really excited after reading the first 2 reviews about this salon. I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time and the young ladies at the front desk were friendly and offered me iced water or hot tea while I waited. My stylist was running a little behind, so I was taken back to have a scalp massage while I waited. (It was very nice.) 20 minutes past my appointment time she was still running late, so the person who did the massage washed my hair for me. At this point, she said that the stylist that I had made the appointment with was busy, but she (the person washing my hair) would be happy to cut my hair for me. I considered waiting, as it was important to me to have someone with experience, but decided that I didn't have the time to wait. The young lady who did cut my hair was very sweet and friendly. She was also very young and not extremely experienced. I specifically asked to not have my hair any shorter than my chin. The hair on the left side of my face ended up shorter than the right, and my hair ended up having to be cut shorter than I wanted in order to even it out. I asked to have very subtle layers in the back, but got very defined layers that are uneven--I will have to go somewhere else to have it fixed. My experience may have been a fluke, but I'm sad to say that I don't feel comfortable giving this salon a second chance.

Jennifer Harper, co-owner of the life: lifestyle salon and spa delievers an experience worth feuding over. She exhibits three characteristics I believe are crucial in her line of work. First, she makes you feel comfortable. Second, she uses and sells only the highest quality products. And finally, she makes sure her workplace has a positive atmosphere. The first thing you notice when you arrive at Life is the hair and nail salon across the street. Don’t be confused! Life is on the East side of District Main Drive, and they don’t offer nail services. Inside you will feel a distinct urban chic atmosphere. The whole experience is best described on their website: We are cutting edge, but without a cutting edge ego. Walking in, I was greated and offered a tour. The mani-pedi area feels like a relaxing sauna. They have a private couples massage area that can be divided for singles. The warm soft lighting adds great ambiance to that room. They have an open area for facials and salon services. The full line of Aveda products are available in the front of the store. Jennifer is the kind of person who draws you out of yourself. Unlike most people I’ve met in the service or sales industry, she doesn’t talk your ear off with tales of her grandma’s brother’s cousin’s neighbor. She asked me what was on my mind. It was refreshing. Read my full review on my blog: Seek These Things on wordpress
